BISONULTRA is a challenging trail run, especially for beginners and first-timers and may offer various running and medical risks to the participating runners. We are bound by the guidelines and restrictions set up by the police and local administrators for this event.
Our primary goal is to provide a most memorable, safe, and beautiful ultramarathon experience for runners across all age groups.
We, therefore, request every runner to carefully follow and understand the event rules, medical warnings and risks, and the various terms and conditions crafted for your memorable experience, comfort, and safety.
The BISONULTRA is a trail race, and after the official start of your race category, the race time will start ticking.
- The 25k course will remain open for 4:30:00 hr
- The 50k course will remain open for 8:30:00 hr
All the runners who are found to be on the course after the cut-off will be declared as Did Not Finish (DNF) and swept away by the authorised members of the event.
All runners reaching the finish line after the cut-off timing or reaching the finish line with any other means of transportation will not be eligible to get the finisher medal.
DNF status will not get any finisher medal.
You must participate in your registered category only to earn your finisher medal.
For example, if you have registered for the 50 k category, you will only get a finisher medal when you complete the 50 k within the specified cut-off time.
All the DNF runners will not receive any other form of recognition or finish certificates.
All foreign nationals must buy the tickets marked for Foreign nationals only. Your entry will be cancelled, and no money will be refunded if valid identification is not shown.
You will wear only the BIB allocated to you with your name. You will not give your BIB to another runner to participate if you cannot run the BISONULTRA or are unable to run anytime during the race.
You are not allowed to transfer or sell your BIB to another runner. If you wish to transfer your ticket to another runner, write to email@example.com. There will be a transfer fee applied. Any runner receiving the ticket transfer must meet the entry qualification conditions.
Cheating in any form will not be allowed. You will not take any lift/ride in vehicles and arrive at the finish line to claim a legal finish. If found cheating, you will be disqualified from the event, and an announcement with the name will be posted on the www.bisonultra.com website and the associated social media pages. You will also be black-listed from entering any events conducted by KaysFIT Academy in the future.
You must wear your BIB on the front/chest side, and it must be visible till you complete your run.
You will be marked DNF and will not be eligible to receive a finisher medal if you skip any of the timing mats.
You are allowed to quit the race anytime due to injury, sickness, fatigue, or for reasons which are not listed here. Your health and safety are essential and critical. You are requested not to feel shy to approach our race director, run managers, medical and security team members, or the lead volunteers in the aid stations in case of any support. You will be marked DNF.
Dress appropriately, and no nudity / partial nudity is allowed.
Do not run under the influence of any severe medications, drugs, narcotics, or other banned substances. Drinking and smoking are not allowed during the race, expo and finish areas.
Photo identification card – All non-Indian citizens will have to provide a photocopy of their passport’s front and back pages showing their photo identity and passport details along with a valid visa before receiving your BIB.
All Indian citizens must show a copy of their government-issued ID card for verification before collecting your BIB/race kit.
Do not negotiate with the organisers during the bib collection if you do not have any identification to show.
You can authorise another runner to collect your race kit with T-Shirt (not the BIB) on your behalf by showing an authorisation email sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your race BIB will be given only to the registered runners and not to the person collecting your race kit.
The decision taken by the race director will be final, and you agree to cooperate with the crew and volunteers to serve us one of the best racing experiences.
Medical warnings & risks
BISONULTRA is a 60-70% primarily motorable trail route inside the coffee estates, and some sections run on public hill roads with many blind turns. Anticipate light vehicular traffic. The trail route and event venue are located inside the forest area, and wild animals like Bison may be present, and you may encounter stray dogs near villages.
Please do not attempt to provoke the animals or go near them under the pretext of taking pictures or selfies. You are expected to run with the company of other runners and follow the safety guidelines published by the race director. You are aware of the dangers and take full responsibility for being safe.
You know that running/long-distance running is an extreme sport and can be dangerous to the body and health. You take full responsibility for participating in the Bison Ultra event and do not hold the organisers or any of its members or entities responsible for any injury or accident.
You shall consult your physician and undergo a complete medical examination to assess your suitability to participate in the event.
You also assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including, but not limited to, falls & fractures, colliding with other runners or pedestrians on the road. You may also get affected by changing weather conditions, cold, including high heat or humidity, traffic and the poor conditions of the roads, arson or terrorist threats, and all other risks associated with a public event. You are aware that you may experience some of the most common conditions like simple to severe muscle cramps, dehydration, and or hypoglycemia.
Severe medical conditions such as cardiac arrest or brain stroke are rare but considered possible emergencies that may occur in an endurance event, and you are aware of its consequences.
Only essential First-Aid support will be provided. The nearest hospital is located in Salem, 35 km from the finish point.
You agree that Bison Ultra organisers, race director, and KaysFIT Academy shall not be liable for any loss, damage, illness, or injury resulting from your participation in the event.
You confirm that, in the event of adverse weather conditions, major incidents or threats on the day, any of the force majeure or restriction by authority, the organisers reserve the right to stop/cancel/postpone the event without any refund.

Cancellations & transfers
- The entry ticket/accommodation amount paid is NON-REFUNDABLE
- If we cannot conduct the event due to unexpected restrictions imposed by the government or local authorities, the registration amount will be carried over to the future whenever the event is rescheduled.
- No medals, goodies and refund for No-Show cases.
- You must submit a signed copy of a medical form/ waiver for the event participation. Details will be sent to you through an email along with the entry confirmation or shared with you at the Expo
- You are aware that you may have to share the room with other participants if you are not part of any group of 3 friends/family members who are comfortable sharing rooms
You can change and downgrade your race distance category without additional fees on or before the Ticket Transfer Window. When you do an upgrade, your entry qualification pre-requisites must be met, and you must also pay the difference in the registration amount. Write an email to email@example.com for the changes.
You can transfer your registration to another qualified runner during the transfer window without any additional charges.
If we find that you have provided us with the wrong qualification records, your entry will be cancelled, or you may be downgraded to a lower distance category. No refund will be provided. You will not receive the custom finisher medal. The organisers reserve the right to offer you an entry on the race day.
Please provide us with a secure email ID/mobile number that you can regularly access since this will be our primary means of communication during the run-up to the event. Users of email services that offer filtering/blocking messages from an unknown email address should add this email id firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will be sending regular updates to the registered email address you have provided while completing your registration. If these updates are inadvertently treated as spam, you shall not take any action against the organisers or the service providers.
Any notice sent to the email address registered with the organisers shall be deemed as received by the runners.
Please fill out the registration form fields that are necessary for mailing purposes. Do not provide redundant data in multiple fields (i.e., do not list the same data for a city, province, and country), as this will only complicate our ability to contact you if necessary.
The organisers will have the right to change the start point, endpoint, or the race route depending on permission from the local authorities.
You agree to abide by the instructions provided by the organisers from time to time in the best interest of your health and event safety.
You also agree to stop running if instructed by the Race Director, run managers, and the Medical Staff for any not described reasons are announced before. Please note the race must abide by the rules set by the local administration, authorities, and police team.
You confirm that your name and media recordings were taken during your participation and may be used to publicise the event.
You may acknowledge and agree that your personal information, including the event day photos and images, will be stored and used by Bison Ultra and KaysFIT Academy or any other company connected to the event’s organisation, promotion, and administration. We may even use these data for the compilation of statistical information.
On the expo & event day, the event photo & videography team, volunteers, partners, sponsors & the members of the press may take photos and videos of you. The media contents may be published on social media for event marketing and other legitimate promotional purposes.
You understand that your confirmed entry ticket is non-refundable. The organisers reserve the right to reject any application without providing reasons. Any amount collected from “rejected application” alone will be refunded, excluding administrative charges of Rs. 500/- per ticket, GST already paid, and bank transaction charges wherever applicable).
Refer to our ticket transfer policy. Discounted tickets can be transferred to another eligible runner by paying the difference in the total ticket price + applicable taxes & online transaction charges.
If you cannot turn up on race day, no refund will be given. You will also not receive the custom medal or any freebies given by our sponsors.
Participants must personally appear to collect the running Bibs on the day before the Ultra Marathon or follow the process set by the event director. Your race BIB will be handed over to you only when you arrive at the expo in person to collect it.
Runners will not be allowed to stay on the course beyond the cut-off time, considering the safety and health issues. You will be taken to the finish line in rescue vehicles and considered a DNF. Should you decide to quit during the race, you are encouraged to reach the nearest aid station and are expected to wait for the recovery bus to come and pick you up.
